Downtown Park Parking Lot Gets a Make Over
May, 2021
It will come as no surprise that once again the town of Forestville has DW Enterprises to thank for the recent renovation of the trailhead parking lot downtown. That’s the lot that the town has been using for decades to host all sorts of community events like the tree lighting or Farmers Market. During the day folks park there for shopping or to use the West County Trail.
That lot stands up pretty well through all sorts of traffic throughout the year. What causes it to erode into ruts is water runoff coming down the hill during our rainy season. So each year when the rains stop, we humbly knock-on Doug Woods door to ask if he and his crew could fix that lot…again!
Each year he says yes. And what a job he does! With Cliff Batchelder closing off the lot, Canyon Rock donating road base and help from his friends, DW Enterprises makes our Downtown Oaks Park a beautiful, welcoming space. And just in time for the opening of the Farmers Market first of June!
To top it off, it wasn’t just the parking lot Doug helped with this year. He brought his “Bobcat” (see photo) and helped spread 80 Cubic Yards of mulch to protect the Young Oak Grove there just the week before. The FPA and all of Forestville is grateful to his man and his family who are dedicated to the good of the town. The friends he gets to pitch in are pretty cool too!
