Quick Update on the Downtown Oaks Park

October 2022

  • We are hoping for the completion of a Use Permit from the County by the end of the year. It’s quite the process and lots of patience has been needed. We’ll let you know when we get it.
  • Look for some changes in the park as we restore some of the damaged area left over from the building of the bridge. Thanks to Sonoma Mow Man we have the equipment and expertise to re-seed those areas in order to bring habitat back to the meadow. This project will take place just before the next rains and will be cordoned off to protect the seedlings until they are established. We are using native grasses to this area.
  • Our “Dumpster Day” project (10/14/22) is being used as a template for other communities to follow. We are documenting the process, creating a flow chart so to speak and hope to add photos and testimonials as we learn how it’s done. Thanks to new Board member Kelly Percich and MAC representative Lisa Nahmanson for taking the lead on this.
