Community Clean Up/Dump Day Instructions

(This is for Sonoma County but parts could be utilized in many communities beyond.)

In October of 2022 the Forestville Planning Association signed on to host a Community Clean Up Day for our town. Our local MAC (Municipal Advisory Council) Trash Committee was looking for a town to show how it can be done.

They wanted to encourage local residents to find ways to keep trash off our streets and out of the river. With a large parking lot available and plenty of willing volunteers we felt we could do it. We documented each step along the way and created a packet of information to share with others.

We created a short “promotional” video of the process you can see here. With the help of the Russian Riverkeepers and our FPA Board (and family members) it was a wonderful community service. We encourage other towns to create one of their own!
