Amanda Wood

By Kierston Aiello
Amanda Wood is a lifelong resident of Forestville, and is a shining example of community leadership!

As long as I’ve known her she has been compassionate, passionate about helping others, and a beacon of healing and positivity for those around her. She is the volunteer coordinator at Food for Thought currently and has dedicated herself to the role thoroughly, managing to keep her cool while juggling multiple food drive locations and volunteers from all aspects of life.

Additionally, she has spent many years working at TLC Child and Family Services in various capacities, and even remains on their “On Call” list. She is a perpetual advocate for those marginalized in our area, and is a supporter of SO MANY fantastic people, causes, and events.

You can spot her all around Forestville in her epic 4-Runner with a gigantic bear strapped in the passenger side, spreading smiles and good vibes every where she goes. Humble, positive, and accepting of everyone, she is the first person to volunteer to help a friend or stranger in need and I can’t think of a single person that deserves recognition more than Amanda!
