In spite of the rain, volunteers came out to beautify the park.

First Annual Work Day in the Downtown Oaks Park

On Saturday, March 10, 2024, the day started with a light drizzle. By 10 am it turned to rain – just when we were expecting folks to show up to help at our first Annual Work Day in the Downtown Oaks Park.

Despite the rain 15 people did come out in the rain and it soon stopped. Volunteers pulled up foxtails along with other noxious weeds including blackberries down in the lower area.

Most of our volunteers were from Laguna High including students and three teachers! They worked hard and everyone got muddy.

It was a great experience working together and seeing progress in the two hours we kept at it.

Thanks to Sonoma Pizza Company pies, plus plenty of snacks bought by FPA Board members no one went home hungry. We so appreciate all those who showed up and made a difference. We love our volunteers!
